Protect Our Borders

An estimated 2100 american citizens are murdered by illegal aliens each year. That is 2100People
who would be alive today if our borders were secure! But, our borders are wide open and pratically
unpoliced. The National Guard was station on our southern border and ordered to run when
approached. What good is that?

Why doesn't the President close the borders? Money.
The restaurant and hospitality industry along with the farmers have lobbied to keep the illegal alien
situation as is. Why? Money. Cheap labor. No benefits. And in many cases no taxes. I am not
against using migrant workers to harvest fruit and work unskilled jobs that americans dont want,
but lets be reasonable. Why can't we close the borders and force documentation of these people?
Why can't we keep track of who is in our country and when their work is done, send them home!
Why can't we prosecute businesses that knowingly hire these aliens?

One of the largest industries in our country today is wire transfer of money to latin america.
You can't blame the illegals. They see a prosperous nation and want a piece of it. And when they get a
piece in the form of a paycheck they send it back home. Sending money out of the country equates to
money NOT spent here. In that sense this situation is not good for the economy. Where this situation is
good comes in the form of cheap american products. Without cheap labor america can not compete
with the rest of the world. Why are so many american business' moving south of the border?
Cheap labor. And that equates to a cheaper product. The latest of these is Hershey's which announced
this week it will be moving all operations to Mexico.

America is rapidly becoming a country of consumers only. So what's the problem? We get cheap labor
which results in cheaper products. That sounds good. But, the problems lies in the undocumented
workers who often pay no taxes and because of loop holes in the law qualify for government benefits.
In other words all the benefits without any of the cost.

The answer sounds simple to me, Close the borders. Control the flow of workers. Document these
workers. Tax them and prosecute employers who dont follow the law. Close up the loop holes and
make them very aware that reaping the benefits of american life requires you to be a loyal citizen.

Men Wanted

Wanted, greedy men with little self respect. Must be willing to confess, admit or lie about behavior of a personal nature.
Must prefer fame and money over humility and poverty. Motive should be obvious. Some vague acquaintance with Anna Nicole Smith a must. Willingness to provide a DNA sample even when not asked required. Appearance at self promoting news conferences
a plus. Concern for "your" child unnecessary. Concern for $400 million  very necessary. Apply immediately, competition is stiff.

Losers Panic Boston

That's what my headline would have read. Over reaction is an understatement. At least from where I
view it. A couple of losers got a job hanging lighted ads around town and wound up causing
a terror scare. The ads were a little different from your average everyday hand bill. They were made from
the "LightBrite" children's toy. The lights were formed in the shape of a cartoon character and hung
on walls and bridge supports all over town. Ok, bridge supports may not have been the best choice.
Did I say these guys were losers? The lighted signs had been up for several days and Boston wasn't
the only city targeted for the ad campaign. It's called gorilla marketing. The idea is to do something
different, something over the top, something that catches the attention of all who view it. I think the two losers
succeeded. They shutdown a city. The bomb squad showed up and actually blew them up. The signs that is.
Traffic was held.  Politicians got excited. It was a hoax and then it wasn't a hoax. You would have
thought the British were coming. Concern morphed into panic. These suspicious objects were showing
up all over town. The losers were at least industrious. And so were the authority's.
The culprits were apprehended. When it was realized these two were not terrorist or even capable of
malicious mischief, they were released. Reporters waited outside. A press conference had been promised.
When the two came to the microphone what did they have to say for themselves? What justification
for this despicable act did they offer? Did they apologize? Did they blame someone? Nope. No excuses.
No confession. No press conference. They stepped to the mic and began to talk about haircuts in the 70's.
Losers.
